The Farce of Aadhaar E-KYC Mobile SIM Activations

The Farce of Aadhaar E-KYC & New Prepaid Mobile SIM Activations by Telecom Companies on the basis of a draconian idea that Aadhaar Address must be in the actual place/state of SIM purchase rather than in one's own nama, Photo & Biometrics & Indian Juggaad/Circumvention invented & done by road side vendors selling R Jio SIM's on Motorbike Seats to make a killing on the huge Demand for R Jio SIM's Last Year, has placed a big risk to India's national security ! 

A contact of mine named Romeo Kilo [RK] A Semi-Literate, rural buffalo minus horns & tails a Road Side Dhabha [Food-Stall] Cook wanted a R Jio SIM Last October 2016 to make use of free calling ! When he purchased a New SS J2 Smart Mobile,the shop keeper who sold the Mobile handset was honest & frank enough to tell him that as his Aadhaar Address was of UP East Village he could not get a Delhi R Jio SIM where RK was working.

But one of the Motorbike R Jio SIM Vendors approached RK took Rs 100 [US $ 2] unofficially & his Aadhaar ID Paper Proof ! God Knows what they did with his Aadhaar No & using somebody else's Nama & Bogus Aadhaar ID & Address Activated a Jio SIM # & Gave it to RK for use !

 
RK in Good Trust thought that the SIM was being activated in his own Nama, Aadhaar # Permanent Village Address, ID & being unfamiliar with activation process, internet it's usage, My Jio App etc never bothered to check the credentials & Till today RK had been using that impersonated R Jio Delhi SIM for 9 months ! 

At 1800 hrs today when I logged into his Jio A/c Website using his R Jio Mobile # OTP, E-Mail ID, Registration to check current plan offer expiry date, I was shocked, to see, that his R Jio # was in somebody else's nama i.e one Mike Sierra [MS] & address in Faridabad NCR Delhi Harayana State !

As a Rule player by the Book & a good law abiding citizen, I informed RK about the Bogus that had happened. He was also equally shocked !

Now the Good Thing !

RK had activated his Dhan Dhana Dhan Rs 309 Offer with Rs 99 Prime Membership in April 2017 for Rs 408 & it was expiring on 21st Night or 22nd Midnight July 2017. This was a blessing in disguise !

As he is now in his Home Town Village with Aadhaar # in his Home Town I Told him not to renew the current SIM Further & get a Fresh R Jio SIM with Prime Membership & DDD Plan in Village with his Own Nama, Aadhaar # Photo, Biometrics, Validated, On the Spot @ Shop when purchasing & asking the R Jio SIM Vendor to do in person home verifications like Passport !

Doesn't matter if the Rs 99 prime membership on his Bogus SIM goes waste as he has used the impersonated SIM for 10 months. At Least be Safe Legally & don't become a threat to national Security & create problems for yourself & others !

I remembered a News Story about 10 years Ago before the onset of Aadhaar where a Plumber who had submitted his Own Voters ID for getting One SIM in his Own Nama in a UP Village to increase his business was woken up by the Local Polizei @ Midnight after six months stating that he had terrorist links as His ID was used by some criminals & he had over 100 SIM's Registered in his Nama & ID ! The Shop Keeper who had sold him the SIM had committed the Fraud of ID's !

The same is continuing even now !

So Reliance Jio & All other Pre-Paid Telecom Companies have to get rid of this Idea of Aadhaar Address & Place of SIM Purchase both being in same town rather than Each SIM being Linked to the purchaser's actual Aadhaar #  Nama Photo & Biometrics Verified on Spot. 

Once Co's like R Jio have brought One India,One Telecom Circle, Roaming Free, PAN India, One Scheme even if Address is different what does it matter ? What matters is the Photo, Nama, ID # & Biometrics of the Person. 

With Mobile telephony VLR is available 24 x 7 on usage basis so a user can be tracked easily & a Mobile user unlike a Fixed Phone User cannot be expected to stay put inside his home or Office or his Physical Address 24 x 7 365 days ! 

Many have to cross states in search of Work & Livelihood ! Romeo Kilo got the bogus R Jio SIM in Delhi,He went PAN India for Work in the last 8 months & finally he is now in his Home Village Town of UP East ! 

Even if Address is so important do local physical verification of the person @ the local SIM purchase place address before activating the actual SIM & record the address where it was verified while taking his actual Permanent Aadhaar # ID # Nama Photo ! Why so much Hurry ? 

Even if somebody has a Aadhaar # of same state/town where he/she purchases a SIM like Delhi the Address in Aadhaar could have undergone change so without in person verification of Address Aadhaar E-Kyc @ PoS is void & of no use ! 

With the Indian State viewing all it's citizens as criminals & potential threat to National Security, The Indian Telco's have not given a thought, that, due to the mind factor each human being can be a Saintly, honest, genuine, person this moment, but can for any reason like money greed or poverty become a criminal next moment ! 

Just imagine using Aadhaar # & address of Mike Sierra of Faridabad to Activate X no of SIM's in Delhi NCR & one of them being a Terrorist Right in the Centre of the World's Biggest Democracy ! Even RK the Cook can become a Terrorist ! Who lands in trouble ? Mike Sierra !

Imagine using Romeo Kilo's Aadhaar Proof in UP East Village to Activate Y No of SIM's in UP for those who don't have UP Address & one of them is a Criminal. Who lands in trouble ? Romeo Kilo !

Or the Polizei come and arrest a sleeping  Romeo Kilo @ his Village Home @ Midnight & charge him for impersonation crimes of using Mike Sierra Nama, ID, Address Activated Delhi Jio SIM in ignorance & getting charged for impersonation crimes that he did not commit which is a unnecessary hassle, expense & loss of Income for Daily Wage Earners ! In India Polizei want bribes to make a poor man go scot free for even a simple offense committed unknowingly ! 

A wake up call for all Indian Telco's has arrived now that Supreme Court has made it mandatory for all Mobile # 's & Aadhaar's to be linked & in actual Possession of the Aadhaar ID Holder ! No Proxy 3rd Party Holding !

Later I came to know that in R Jio Prepaid SIM's at least 75 % have been activated in impersonated Nama & Address ID's for road side workers to gain Fresh Subscribers in a very short time to break even & very few have SIM's in their Own Nama, Aadhaar #, Photo & Address ! 

My Own Experience & Way of Doing Things.

Don't have many prepaid SIM's Just because of new Schemes coming every day by different telco's ! Just one Primary BSNL MTNL Dolphin SIM & One Secondary Vodafone/Airtel is OK ! Keep Primary Mobile # always @ home which is linked to Bank, DR Card,Net Banking, BHIM, Mobile Banking App, Govt SS Records, PAN # IT Returns, Passport # ,PO Sb A/c, Aadhaar Records for SMS, OTP & TXN Alerts & use it to make calls from home like Landline ! 

Don't give Primary # to One & All. When leaving home switch to secondary # so that even if it is lost or stolen no harm !

Even to close family members or very close friends never give your prepaid activated SIM's in your nama to them for use even for one moment. You just cannot know & predict anyone's mind, actions & in future you may land yourself in trouble !

On 26th April 2017 I being a fanatical Gaullist put the above to practice !

My Aunt whom I have known for 40 years wanted to use MTNL Dolphin 3G Jadoo USB Internet Dongle with Dolphin SIM as her wired internet was giving trouble. I Told her that I've one Dolphin SIM which I got with that Dongle & can give that with the Dongle to Her but she should first get the SIM Transferred in her own nama @ MTNL ! When she was hesitant & did not reply in affirmative about this, I just gave her the Dongle which was a Obsolete Hardware for Windows 10 Users but worked for Windows XP Users & Ported that Dolphin Dongle SIM to Vodafone for my own use using Aadhaar E-Kyc @ Vodafone Store Karol Bagh New Delhi !

Updated:17-Jul-2017 When Romeo Kilo went to a authorised Jio Retailer to get a Fresh SIM in his Own Village with His Own Aadhaar ID Proof,he was asked to pay Rs 50 extra  towards the cost of the SIM which was actually free so he refused ! When he asked whether he can convert his existing SIM in his Own Nama, using his Aadhaar ID, Jio Retailer stated that this was also not possible !  So Romeo Kilo continued the same Bogus Nama ID SIM Further for 84 days by recharging it with Rs 399 Dhan Dhana Dhan Offer w.e.f 22-Jul-2017 and Saved Rs 150 in buying a New Jio SIM !

So Reliance Jio needs to wake up & do something about these things !

Lenovo Vibe K5 Plus Review

Review of Lenovo Vibe K5 Plus 3 Gb Ram+16 Gb Rom Silver Color Variant !

This was my first smartphone purchase & upgrading from a Simple 2G Samsung Guru GT-E1200 Y/Z Feature Phone of 2015 !

This phone was destined to come to me on the 3rd Oct 2016 as exactly, 14 years ago, same date & day, I had bought my first Monochrome Screen Panasonic EB-GD 75 Feature Phone which I still have which worked solid for 12 years with 3 Battery Replacements. 

I got this Lenovo Vibe K5+ [3+16 Gb] Silver Color for Rs 6,749 on BB Days Offer via SBI Card through my cousin, who had come home from Office & was trying to book the same model for his Aunt when I called him & he booked 2 Pcs 1 for me @ discount ! His SBI Dr Card was also activated online for the first time for this purchase after SBI Staff Helped him !

This was the best option available for this price. However I will not advise anyone to buy this at Rs 8,500/- as better options are available now that K6 Power has come ! This Phone is worth only Rs 7,000/- I will list it's pros & cons below. 

Before this I will highlight my uses for the phone. I am a Vedantist & a Witnessing Meditator, NIL Gamer, NIL Earphone, NIL Music/Video Entertainment Seeking Person, NIL Camera User, After buying the phone I have even forgotten there is a Camera as I used it just to scan QR Code of  PayTM at Shops !

I needed just a Phone for Long Hours of Wi-Fi Internet, 3G/4G Internet Access on the Go via MTNL 3G Dolphin/4G Vodafone Network, Whatsapp, Twitter, Facebook Lite, E-Mails, Youtube Videos and productive work and especially typing via Wireless Keyboard Mouse & basically for honouring tech & it's inventors. For this the phone suited me perfectly.

Pros:

1-Full HD Screen 441 PPI No ghosting no shadow excellent viewing angles but full hd screen drinks more battery !

2-USB OTG support, works perfectly with Logitech USB Wireless Keyboard K230+Wireless Mouse M235+ USB OTG Drive ! Bought KB+Mouse with this Phone on Amazon Festival Sales @ Discounted Price of Rs 650+600=Rs 1250 !

3-Removable/User Replaceable 2750 mAh Battery which is less !

4-Dedicated Micro SIM Slots & Memory Card Not Hybrid One's & not on top of 1 another !

5-Multi Apps upto 7-8 do not hang or slow down the phone, At all times 2 Gb Ram is Free for user. Snapdragon 616 Octacore CPU can handle all basic apps without any problem or Lagg !

6-No Hanging or loss of connectivity on long hours on Wi-Fi Internet or 3G/4G even once till now !

7-Upon 1st Boot there was a system update of 57 Mb after which there was no heating or hanging problem faced even once since 6th October 2016 when phone was received !

8-No Heating on regular use or battery charging. The phone always stays cool between 27-38'c

9-Very Quick Battery charging from 5% to 100% in 90 Minutes via DU Battery Saver Smart charge App.

10-Excellent Quality Dolby ATMOS sound which if enabled gives another dimension to music & videos.

11-Very Good Quality Plastic screen guard & Back cover given than a cheap headphone. In the market only tempered glass is available !

12-No problems on call Quality Front & the Vibe UI + Basic Android Interface are excellent !

13-The Wi-Fi Hot Spot Feature is splendid. Once Configured via Password the Lenovo Vibe K5 Plus works as a Wi-Fi Link and using the Data in the SIM other smartphones can access the Lenovo for Internet as a Wi-Fi Hot Spot. Tested it with Samsung J1 4G VoLTE and it worked. The SS was able to access the 4G Data in the Vodafone SIM on the Lenovo using the Lenovo as Wi-Fi Hot Spot. 

Cons:

1-The Battery for the first three charges was draining rapidly despite the fact that I uninstalled useless apps and installed DU Battery Saver App & DU Speed Booster & Cleaner from Playstore. 

2-On 1st boot itself I uninstalled McAfee Security which was a huge Ram+Battery Drainer. But certain built in Apps  like Chrome, Google Hangouts, Music, Pictures and other useless apps cannot be uninstalled only disabled. They continue to hogg space.

3-Now after this Battery lasts for 8 hours on continuous usage, of Wi-Fi and on standby 18-20 hrs.

4-USB OTG Pen Drive can be read only via Smartphone formatted file system. It does not read NTFS Pen Drives which work on PC's & Old Tablets. So one OTG dedicated pen drive is needed to copy files from phone to PC.

5-No double tap to wake up screen, but I downloaded & installed a Android APK from www.techdiscussion.in and solved this problem. If u need the APK click here !

6-No Volume Control Widget, but a APK is available and if installed works fine and volume can be controlled on screen than the physical button which becomes a pain to access if a flipcover is installed.

7-I think this phone will not get updated to Android 6.0 Marshmallow as Lenovo has no plans to do so. Till now no update received !

8-No VoLTE update planned anytime soon ! So Reliance Jio users don't buy this phone ! When I use 4G Vodafone Internet people cannot call me !

9-Like my old Teracom 2013 Tablet I would have been very happy had this phone had a separate Charging Pin Port & Separate OTG Data Port but this was not available.

10-There are 2  Biggest bugbears of this phone. 1- is that u can use 4G on any of the SIM's but when one slot is using 4G or 3G the other will switch to 2G only. So No 4G/3G + 3G. My problem is Dolphin Voice/SMS NW works fine only in 3G but then Vodafone will be 2G. But Internet Packs of Vodafone are 4G of very high speed & quality so if I keep Vodafone @ 4G Dolphin Switches to 2G & tower is 0 many times. 

2-No Backlight on touch capacitive home,back,history keys ! This is a pain at night in dark !

11-In November 2016 a 59 Mb Update has come but despite downloading it many times it failed to install & so I gave up ! 

12-The phone with Goosperry Diary Fancy Cover installed become slightly heavy in the pocket because of Full HD 5" Screen and needs to be carried in the Cross Side Bag !

So overall it was an excellent and splendid purchase for Rs 6,749/- and I have no regrets as it is serving my purpose without any problem. I use the smartphone for all purpose like Calls, Wi-Fi, Little Videos, Little Music.

I would ask all to opt for this if battery life, camera and gaming are not main considerations & for those interested in buying a superior product @ correct price of Less than Rs 7,000 Not worth for Rs 8500

I had ordered, another Golden Color, for the White Gir Lion, for Rs 7,299, via my Cousin in the December 2016 Christmas Sale, as he also ordered the same Golden Color for his use, but his order was delivered & mine cancelled & Refunded after which I gave up. 

After the above incident I bought the Samsung Galaxy J1 4G VoLTE for the Lion on 23-Feb-2017 ! In a way this was much better for Lion's purpose of simple calls, SMS Long battery life etc!

Samsung India Galaxy J1 4G VoLTE Smartphone Review

Samsung Galaxy J1 4G VoLTE [January 2017] Smartphone is the best upgrade for Mujhadeena Horse Women[Dr Ms S Bhanumati] type Maha Kanjams & Maha Mooduchoghee [Misers & thrifts], no frills, long term, mature, non camera, non music,non video,non internet,  pure Emperor Aurangazeb type 2G feature phone Vedantist/Leftist/Less is more philosophy type users/upgraders ! 

Usage History & Background of 1 Senior Lion aged 70 & 1 Senior Lioness 70 years & Myself a Brahman Jnani, Sanyaasi, Bhakti Vedantist <40 Yrs !

Myself & Lioness were using a Basic Samsung Guru GT-E 1200Y/Z 2G Feature Fone [FF] since May 2015 & the Senior Lion a 2006 Motorola C-168 FF with MTNL Dolphin SIM for just receiving Net Banking OTP's, SMS Alerts, as call drops & poor Voice connectivity was a huge problem on MTNL 2G Dolphin NW in Prime Central Delhi, Karol Bagh Locality with 2G Signal penetration inside rooms=0. For Voice calls we were relying on the Good Old Wireline/Landline. 

Since June 2016 even receiving & sending SMS became a problem from Room for which we had to place the phone outside the window. This delayed our bill payment, funds transfer work & Tower Signal would vanish the moment a OTP was 2 come. For hours we never knew that phone had lost tower signal on standby & had to be switched to manual search mode or restarted ! We were disgusted with the network even though the Exchange BTS tower was just 0.50 kms away & even thought of porting to AVOID Networks but then that has it's own set of problems !

In June 2016, A BTS Engineer from our Local Telephone Exchange BTS visited our house & was shocked to see zero signals in one room, wrote some report, forwarded it to Wireless Section @ CGO Complex Lodhi Road, New Delhi & was duly forgotten by both establishments. Nothing changed from June till Dec 2016. 

After much twitter complaints, MTNL BTS Engineer one Sri T P Singh clarified that we should upgrade to a 3G phone as the Tower in our locality was only 3G & 2G network was problematic due to illegal signal boosters installed by people. So we were forced by technology & decided to upgrade even though our simple FF were as good as new & hardly used since 2015 ! Of course Lion's Motorola C-168, 2006 phone, was at the end of life as it's battery was not holding the charge & a spare battery was also not available being a very old model !

So I got 3 Pcs of Samsung Galaxy J1 4G VoLTE smartphone in White,Golden, Black Colors for Myself, The Lion & Lioness on 23-Feb-2017 for Rs 6,900/- [US $ 100] per piece Offline from one Kamal Stores, Saraswati Marg,12A/11 WEA Karol Bagh, New Delhi-110005. Online the price was Rs 7,200 on Flipkart & Amazon.

The Experience, at the shop, was splendid, as the shop owner, had well behaved, well trained & customer friendly staff ! He also agreed to reduce the price on each piece by Rs 100 from Rs 7 K. The shop also had a PoS Card Swipe Machine without MDR ! So all synced very well & was pre-destined !

Our Full Size FF SIM's were cut using SIM Cutter Tool & upgraded to Micro for the 1st time in 12 years since purchase and we used the J1 4G & Lo & Behold Like Allaudin Baba Jin solving our problem all our Call, SMS problems disappeared once the 3G WDCDMA only, setting was enabled. We are talking crystal clear from the same room, in fact much better than Airtel or Vodafone NW ! Now OTP's SMS's even BHIM Mobile Banking App Regn took less than 5 seconds when before a simple SIM Balance Check via *444# would take 15 seconds & out of 10 attempts 9 would reduce tower to 0.

This J1 4G VoLTE is the best option for those who R facing the problem of poor 2G connectivity of MTNL Dolphin Network ! Our requirements are very basic minimal, Just occasional Voice calls, SMS, OTP's Whatsapp, BHIM App, Bank mPassbook Check, & NIL Camera usage, NIL Gaming, NIL Video, NIL Audio and very little net surfing for which this model is perfectly suited and is also future proof !

It has Opera Max Ultra Data Saving & Power Saving Mode which is a blessing & phone battery on standby with B/W Screen will last for 4 days. Touch Wiz Interface, Call Quality, 3G Signal Intensity are much better than high end phones like Lenovo Vibe K5 Plus which has a problem of Signal Strength inside the room. The SS J1 4G shows full 4 bars 3G Signal & in the same room on 3G the Lenovo shows 1 bar only.

The Pro's & Cons are as below !

1 Compact Size of 4.5" Screen 4" too small 5" too big & heavy

2 Dedicated twin Micro SIM card slots which claims to support VoLTE 4G+3G [I have not tested this as I have 3G SIM] My Lenovo Vibe K5+ supports only 4/3G+2G not 4G+4G or 4G+3G 

3 Dedicated Micro SD card slot, away from both SIM slots,Not on top/below of 1 SIM slot supports upto 128 Gb, I used Sandisk Ultra Class 10, 16 Gb Micro SD Card which costed Rs 400 US $ 5.80 ! Normal Class 4 Sandisk costs Rs 370.00

4 User removable 2050 mAh Battery & USB OTG supported [Tested with Kingston USB 2.0 16 Gb OTG Pen Drive & Logitech K235 Wireless Keyboard & M235 Wireless Mouse with Nano Receiver Both Worked]

5 Opera Max Ultra Data & Power Saving Mode which converts screen to B/W with basic features for calls, SMS, Whatsapp, Internet, Facebook,Calculator, increasing standby time to 4 days !

6 Superb Amoled display and buttery Touch screen with Touch Wiz Interface! 

7 Minimum Bloat ware installed

8 As Samsung has been in India for very long, genuine battery, charger, accessories are easily available for a long time like Good Old Nokia ! 

Cons:

1 Ram Could have been at least 1.5 Gb instead of 1 Gb

2 No Auto Power Switch On & Off Feature Given

3 Ringtone customizable but SMS tune not ! On the Top of the Phone near clock & Touch Wiz Icon Menu there is no Icon for Screen Shot. Screen Shot has to be taken using Power+Home Key Combo in quick press which is a Pain !

4 No Internal Silver Button Cell to keep clock & settings intact when battery is removed to change SIM's

5 Installed softwares can only be disabled not uninstalled !

6 A peculiar quirk observed is when Ultra Battery Saver Mode [UBSM] is enabled & Screen turns to Black & White, one cannot set the ringtone to silent/mute if one wishes to sleep. It can only be set to Vibrate or very low volume. To set it to silent one has to enable the Touch Wiz Full color Interface ! All other Media, Notifications, System Volume can be set to Silent in UBSM !

Advice:

Buy a good quality Goosperry Mercury Diary Type Fancy Case for the SS J1 4G VoLTE Phone. Before buying take the Phone Box with you as Old J1 Model Covers are also available which don't fit the J1 4G Variant. It costed me Rs 150 for one cover in Karol Bagh Wholesale Mobile Market. Buy a spare case if you wish to keep the J1 4G for a very Long time like Lion did with his Motorola C-168 for 11 years !

I tried for simple Plastic Screen protectors for the J1 4G but could not find them as all shops had only tempered glass. So I did not remove the installed screen film till I find one ! 

Install a branded Sandisk micro sd card the white red class 10 and not a cheap open type 3rd rate one as it can damage your SS J1 4G.

So Basic [Voice & SMS Only] 2G Feature Phone Users/Upgraders Senior Lions, Lionesses, Vedantists, who keep phone for longer periods buy it straight away ! 

Demanding users, Phone specs boasters to Friends & Family @ Get togethers, Gamers, Music, Video, Selfie Lovers, Super Maha IyeeeeVaaaaaLeeees [In Tamil Language Persons Born to Ruin & Squander via Easy Money] Look Else where ! 

This SS J1 4G VoLTE is not for You ! 

Understand the philosophy of Samsung & then Buy ! Samsung has a certain uniqueness in all it's models beyond Camera MP, Processor Specs, RAM, Gaming Scores which others fail to appreciate & notice. 

I like the J1 4G VoLTE much better than my Lenovo Vibe K5 Plus 3+16 Gb as it's standby battery life & Signal Voice Call Quality is it's biggest strength. 

But I got the Vibe K5 + for Rs 6,750 so cannot complain during FKart BB Oct-2016 Festival Shopping Days ! I will not buy it for Rs 8,500. A fully prepaid order for Rs 7,200 during Dec-2016 Christmas New Year Sale for the same Golden Lenovo Vibe K5 + [3+16 Gb] was cancelled by Flipkart & Refunded stating technical glitch !

So I'm wary of buying anything online as prices have also increased on the higher side as compared to off line & best to stick to the old adage "While buying Ware ! Beware !
